All buildings constructed before 1985 in Quebec are likely to house materials containing asbestos. During work involving these materials, procedures in Asbestos conditions are required to protect the on-site workers and the work environment. These procedures are outlined in the Safety Code for the Construction Industry, S-2.1, r.6.

Here is a brief description of the asbestos management services we offer:

Characterization of materials likely to contain asbestos


  • Bulk sampling of materials that are likely to contain asbestos (surveys)
  • Identification of bulk samples on site
  • Analysis of bulk samples (to determine the type and percentage of asbestos), by an accredited laboratory, in accordance with method 244-2 of the Institut de recherche Robert-Sauvé en santé et en sécurité du travail (IRSST)
  • Drafting of characterization reports, including an assessment of materials according to several parameters and recommendations that comply with current regulations
  • Drafting of short-, medium- and long-term asbestos management programs


Training pursuant to regulatory requirements


  • Training adapted to each environment, with multimedia presentations
  • Training for managers, project managers, engineers, architects, etc.
  • Training for maintenance personnel (including theoretical and practical training)


Technical support


  • Air sampling and fibre counting according to the IRSST 243-1 method (Through our mobile laboratories, we are able to supply same-day results)
  • Worksite supervision and management during asbestos abatement; drafting of daily inspection reports and follow-up with stakeholders
  • Inspection and quality control of new fire-proofing products in compliance with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards


Consulting services for abatement, confinement, encapsulating or maintenance projects for asbestos-based materials


  • Drafting of work procedures or technical specifications sections for Low, Moderate, High Alleviated or High-Risk work, including drawings or sketches as needed
  • Preparation of tender documents
  • Development of prevention programs or action plans
  • Assessment of work methods and of their compliance with regulations (audit)
